How to create your blog for Spanish 1020
1. Getting Started: Open www.blogger.com and click “create a blog”.
2. Create Account: Fill in the basic information to create an account. If you already have a blogspot account you can add a new blog to your profile if you would like. You will need a google account for blogger.com; you can use any valid email address to create this account.
3. Name your blog: Give your blog an appropriate name, i.e. “Blog de mi clase de español – Juan Diego” “Tom Jones - Blog de 1020” “Ana María Gomez - Mis experiencias en español” “Al aprender español por Mary Cordero”, etc. You may choose whatever URL you would like (make sure it is appropriate as this will be how your instructor(s) and peers will access your blog).
4. Choose template: Choose a template that you like. You can go back and make changes to the template later in the semester.
5. Post your blog URL on Discussions in WebCT.
6. Start with the first “entrada de blog”
7. Customize your blog. Make it your own. If you want you can add your picture, improve the header, add links and apps, etc. Just remember to keep it appropriate for a university level Spanish course.
8. Happy Blogging!
Now that you have your blog account set up you need to write your first entry. It is a good idea to write your entry in Word (using spell and grammar check and adding accent marks) and then move it over to blogger.com (Note that on some computer you will have to drag and drop your entry from Word into blogger). Make sure that your entries reflect your best work. Please make note of the due dates below (there will be more blog assignment later in the course). You can open your instructor’s blog to access the blog assignments and to easily open your classmates’ blogs. (http://lanisespan1020.blogspot.com/)
